CV

Oliver Wittke was appointed Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy on 14 March 2018 and is the Special Representative of the German Government for the Implementation of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative in Germany. In his capacity as Parliamentary State Secretary, Oliver Wittke acts as a political representative of the Federal Minister, in particular vis-à-vis the Bundestag and the parliamentary groups. He has been a Member of the German Bundestag since 2013. After graduating in economics and geography at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum he was Mayor of Gelsenkirchen, Head of the Cabinet Department for Building and Transport of North Rhine-Westphalia, Member of the Management Board of Hellmich-Gruppe in Duisburg and Secretary-General of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) of North Rhine-Westphalia.
