Building direct consumer relationships

Today, Volvo Cars sells a bit over half a million cars annually. By the middle of the next decade, Volvo aims to have built 5 million direct consumer relationships. Anders Tylman-Mikiewicz, Vice President Consumer Connectivity Systems at Volvo Cars, will explain how Volvo plans to meet this ambitious target through car subscriptions as opposed to car ownership, an expanded digital consumer service offering and smart partnerships with innovative companies in various fields enabling this expansion.

As VP of Consumer Digital, Anders Tylman-Mikiewicz leads the Global Connectivity Services business area within Volvo Car Group. The team’s purpose is to explore, build and scale the car connectivity-based services that will help the company to deliver on its mission of providing consumers the Freedom to Move. Anders has built out a world-class digital team with talent from leading technology companies and technology startup, Luxe, which he was part of acquiring for the Volvo Car Group.

Prior to his current role, Anders was the GM for Volvo’s innovation lab in California, led various product marketing and product launch teams, both at HQ and in the crucial US market, and pioneered strategic initiatives across areas such as electrification and consumer centric product development.

Anders holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Marketing and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering, majored in Intelligent Systems for Buildings. His curiosity has led down several previously unexplored paths, one of them being the development and launch of the first luxury plugin-hybrid in the world, the Volvo V60 Plugin Hybrid. Another one is working on Volvo’s roadmap in autonomous driving, shared mobility and most recently connectivity services.
